Education Outreach Programs

Designed for elementary school students in grades 3-6, the Westchester Philharmonic's education program utilizes music as a springboard to learning.

Working from the podium, the conductor will introduce the instrument families of strings, winds, brass, and percussion, musical elements of tempo and dynamics, melody and harmony; and key aspects of compositional form. Study guides as well as optional visits from professional teaching artists will help teachers weave the music and theme into classroom lessons.

The Westchester Philharmonic's education program provides children with an opportunity to experience a professional symphony orchestra in a real concert hall.

The 2020 concert will take place at the Purchase College Performing Arts Center. Date and time will be announced soon!

Program participation includes:

  • classroom Study Guide

  • excerpts from the pieces to be performed accessible via our website

  • an optional visit from one or more of our teaching artists

  • tickets to a live performance featuring the Westchester Philharmonic!
