At The Westchester Philharmonic’s season-opening concert on October 15th, Israeli pianist Ran Dank, who had just taken his bows after a superb rendering of Schumann’s Piano Concerto with conductor Danail Rachev on the podium, addressed the audience quietly with words of pain and hope. Then, as a prayerful offering, he turned to the keyboard and performed Bach’s Prelude in E-flat Minor. The audience, the orchestra, even the crew backstage, dissolved in tears.
