Music Fest Sparkles with Patriotism
A crowd of nearly 10,000 braved the prospect of rain for a free concert and fireworks in celebration of Independence Day on Friday, July 3. Patriotic pops conducted by guest conductor Constantine Kitsopoulos included Liberty Bell March, and Stars and Stripes Forever plus American favorites such as Fanfare for the Common Man, the Overture to Candide and more! Richard Thomas, Regional Director for the Lower Hudson Valley for the Office of Governor Paterson narrated "The Gettysburg Address," an original orchestral score which featured the famous Abraham Lincoln speech.
