Ticket and subscription revenue only covers about one third of the cost of our concert series. Gifts from our donors provide funds which pay musician salaries, guest artist fees, and for the rental of music and the Concert Hall. Imagine the Concert Hall stage with half of the lights shining down on half of the musicians, with half of Maestro Perlman standing on the podium. Silly, right?
The Philharmonic presents the best performances in the region. We bring you the finest musicians in the Metropolitan area with world-class guest artists and outstanding examples of repertoire from the past and present. If we want to keep our standards at this high level to meet your expectations, we need your help to do it.
You don’t have to leave your backyard to hear great music. Guest artists such as Joshua Bell, Garrick Ohlsson, Awadagin Pratt, and Michael Boriskin have graced our stage in recent months, and you didn’t have to travel to New York City to hear them. Your support helps us bring exceptional performances to your neighborhood.
We do so much more than perform. Our Classroom Education programs serve over 7,000 students in over 50 schools throughout Westchester by providing a curriculum-based course in music. Our Special Audiences Project serves over 3,000 high-risk children and young adults by bringing hands-on music activities into therapeutic environments. When you support the Philharmonic, you support everything that we do, in the Concert Hall, in the community and in the classroom.
Your support is an endorsement of our work. We appreciate gifts at every level, from $25 to $25,000. When we apply for funding from foundations, corporations and public agencies, they want to know about the breadth of our support from individuals.
